Why SINP rejected my application ? Got Ineligible from SINP !!
In April 2021 I got ineligible from SINP ( Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) and was so much hurt but I learned very important lessons from it. If you read this article I will share those lessons with you too.
Read till the end to know how I solved this issue.
After the rejection I got to know that SINP can reject application based on anything but there are few points where SINP has no tolerance.
Proof of Funds (POF):
This is the most frequent reason to get ineligible from SINP. If your proof of funds are not aged 90 days then SINP will reject the application straight away.
I know no one is happy to keep this POF money in their bank account while they can use these funds to do so many useful things . Regrettably, the SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) maintains a stringent policy without showing any leniency towards proof of funds. Each individual’s circumstances vary, and they require funds for their day-to-day activities. Typically, individuals resort to selling their assets, such as cars or jewelry, to generate the required funds after receiving confirmation from SINP. However, this approach proves to be too late for meeting the proof of funds requirement, as applicants have only 60 days to submit all necessary documents, while the funds need to be aged for a minimum of 90 days. Consequently, many applicants opt to create gift deeds or find alternative methods to transfer the money into their bank accounts, only to face rejection from SINP if the funds are not adequately aged.
NOC Code and Education mismatch:
One of the reasons for application rejection in the SINP is a mismatch between the NOC code and education. If your primary education does not align with the NOC code you have chosen for your SINP application, it is likely that your application will be rejected. Primary education typically refers to the bachelor’s degree that you have completed and are using as the basis for your SINP application. For instance, if you hold a computer science degree but have also completed an MBA, your primary education would be considered the computer science degree. SINP evaluates your eligibility based on your primary education, in this case, the computer science degree.
When there is a mismatch between your primary education and the NOC code, obtaining approval from SINP becomes challenging. For instance, if you are a mechanical engineer but working as a data analyst, your application is likely to be rejected by SINP. Even if you have taken some programming or data analysis classes during your coursework, SINP does not accept them.
A notable example in the field of computer science is that SINP treats computer engineering and computer electronics engineering as distinct from the NOC code for software development. Therefore, if you apply as a software developer with an education in electronic engineering or computer systems engineering, your application is likely to be rejected by SINP. Please feel free to share in the comments if you have successfully been accepted in such a case.
Job Reference letter not according to NOC Code
Another common reason for SINP application rejection is when the experience letter does not align with the NOC code. Each NOC code has its defined roles and responsibilities, and SINP strictly evaluates job reference letters based on these codes.
Unfortunately, I faced a similar issue where my application was rejected by SINP due to this reason. I had included multiple roles and responsibilities in my experience letter that spanned across various NOC codes. It’s important to note that the person reviewing your application may not have technical expertise, so you need to write your experience letter in a way that can be understood by anyone, highlighting the basic duties and responsibilities of your job. If my application had been accepted, I would have shared a preferred layout for a job reference letter for SINP. However, the fundamental theme is to align your responsibilities with the specific NOC code.
For instance, I had mentioned in my experience letter that I worked as both a team lead and a small manager, while also handling technical work, client requirement gathering, and workshop management. However, I had selected the NOC code for a developer in my SINP application because my entire career was focused on development-related activities. I assumed that SINP would consider my work experience as a developer throughout my career and accept my application. However, I provided too much information regarding my roles and responsibilities, which overlapped with various other NOC codes such as system analyst, database analyst, business analyst, managerial roles, and database developer. While having diverse skills may seem beneficial, SINP focuses solely on assessing your skills that match the NOC code you have applied for. Therefore, it’s crucial to carefully align your responsibilities and only mention those that are relevant to the specific NOC code. Avoid including any additional information or omitting any responsibilities that are part of the NOC code.

SINP Ineligible letter
A sample reference letter that was rejected by SINP :
This reference letter was too much detailed and kind of complicated. It was overlapping so many NOC Code and that is the reason it got rejected.
